This is a very clever workout. While it appears to be marketed to seniors, anyone would enjoy it. You can use any size of handheld weights, depending on your ability. Everything is included, warm up, warm down, and stretching. If you are short on time you can adjust the different 8 minute increments accordingly. I walk every day but use this workout after to get in a little weight training and stretching. The direction is excellent. None of the moves are too crazy or complicated.
I have purchased many, many exercise DVD's for Senior Citizens. All of them ask me to get out a yoga mat and want me to roll around on the floor for 30, 45 minutes to exercise - seriously! I love this DVD - It is broken down into 8 minute session for five days a week for four weeks with two days off a week. Everyday you are working on a different area of your body and yes I have to get down on the floor yoga mat, but it is for 2 minutes at most, every third or fourth day. This I can do. I have been using this program for 8 weeks now. I have lost a total of 8 lbs using this DVD and eating a healthy balanced diet. I am elderly, no senior citizen wants to get down on the floor, roll around to do their exercises and then have to try and get back up. This DVD helps to strengthen and tone my body and I don't get bored!
Finally an exercise video for real people and it’s great for seniors! I have arthritis in my knees and hips but I can do this and I know I can adapt what I'm doing if needed. If you want to get done with your workout fast and still get results you should try this one.
I was pretty skeptical something like these could help me lose weight... but so far I've been pleasantly surprised! I'm a mom of 4 so finding the time to work out never seems realistic. But the 8 minutes a day is really good!! Definitely recommend for anyone short on time or just getting into fitness.
My wife said I should try this so I bought it to keep her happy. Glad I did. Works I’m seeing a difference.
I'm 73, overweight and have bad knees. I've been looking for a low impact exercise program I can do at home, that wasn't intended for 20 year olds, without much luck until a friend from the Senior Center mentioned this one. Each workout is only 8 minutes long, with alternatives giving to make some excersises even less stressful than the already low impact versions shown. The first week I kept repeating Day 1 and keep pausing playback while I finished a set. So it was taking me more like 16 to 20 minutes to get through the exercise cycle. But I kept plugging away, and now I can can actually keep up with what's going on. Although I do use the alternatives for some exercises because of my knee problems. So far I'm down 3 pounds from when I started, with another 17 to go. The exercises are a mix of stretching, cardio and resistance, so a pair of 3 to 5 pound dumbells are needed. There's even an 8 minute set of differenct stretches for those who want to keep their muscles loose and don't necessarily need to lose weight. The package says it's for people over 50. Speaking as a 73 year old, I have to say it works for me.
Great product. The exercises are challenging but not heard and really build your strength. I love it that it is geared toward more elderly people and each session is only eight minutes. Highly recommend!
I've been doing this programme for just over two weeks now and still can't get over how quickly the time passes with it. I do the warm up, actual exercises and then use the stretching in place of the cool down in less than 30 minutes. The first week I did the exercises with no weights, adding weights for the second week while repeating the first week. It's really working for me and I find the trainer's instructions, as well as his explanations for his recommendations to protect the back, very useful. I am a semi-retired self employed dog walker (77 years young ) and walk up to 4 or 5 miles a day but even at that, adding this programme to my day has made a very noticeable difference in my overall health. It addresses muscles not used in walking to help me feel more balanced. I would have no difficulty in recommending this programme to any senior, whether ongoingly active or just beginning.
I need something to stay active as I’m getting older and especially now that we can’t go anywhere because of the coronavirus. So I ordered this and figured what the heck I can do eight minutes. Well I just finished my first session and I am wiped out. This guy packed a lot into eight minutes and you can really feel it. If I can stick with it I think it’ll get easier to where I might even be able to do more than just the eight minutes. You really feel it when you’re done and if you’re just starting out don’t feel bad if you have to pause the video and rest a minute or two.If you have bad knees, be careful.
The video is great for older adults to work out. I usually do yoga first and then this daily workout. It's only 8 minutes a day! I'm not much of an exerciser so this is perfect for me.
I like the fact that if you can't jump or do something that may through off your balance you are given an alternative. I'm 80 years old and although I can do most all of the workout, there are a couple of things I have to do the option. It works well for me.
My husband and I needed some way to do a for sure workout for the winter. We weren't able to start as soon as we wanted but are now on week two. This is definitely a workout for beginners and seniors. Our plan is to do the 28days and then hope to be able to start over and maybe do the workout a second time in the same day.
I bought this DVD for a quick workout. It's for people over 50, which I'm not. I think it's a good workout if you're short on time and/or have physical limitations.
I bought this workout accidentally but was quite surprised by it. Initially I was using too little weight and only doing one 8 minute work out. I finally decided to increase my weights and do multiple workouts. I truly enjoy this video and also feel that I get a good workout from this.
Love the way you can adjust the bands to fit your strength level and move to the next strength level as needed. Also there are several ways to mount them.
This workout DVD is amazing.....especially for just being 8 minutes each time. A full workout and so doable!
It’s easy and effective.
Great workouts in short periods. Easy to follow
I love these workouts. The pace and exercises are perfect for someone my age (43) and Jamie's enthusiasm is contagious.
